  • NPK 14-6-5 is a blended fertilizer (BB fertilizer) with a medium nitrogen, low phosphorus and low potassium ratio. The following is a detailed introduction to its features, ingredients, applicable crops and precautions for use.

  • Basic product definition

·NPK 14-6-5: It indicates that the nitrogen (N) content in the fertilizer is 14%, the phosphorus (P₂O₅) content is 6%, the potassium (K₂O) content is 5%, and the total nutrient content is 25%, which belongs to medium and low concentration compound fertilizer.

· Blended fertilizer (BB fertilizer) : It is made by physically mixing single or compound fertilizers of similar particle size (such as urea, monoammonium phosphate, potassium chloride, etc.) in proportion. The formula is flexible and the cost is relatively low.

Major component N + P2O5 + K2O
Inorganic substance content N + P2O5 + K2O ≥ 25.0% (14-6-5)
Water content H2O ≤ 2.0%
Granularity (2.00mm ~ 4.75mm)≥ 90%
Execution standards NY/T 1112 -2006
Base Chloride-based Bulk Blending Fertilizer
Chloride Ion 3%-15%
Aim Field crops and various cash crops
  • Main components and functions

· Nitrogen (14%) - Promotes vegetative growth It provides the nutrients needed for the growth of crop stems and leaves, enhances photosynthesis, and makes the plants lush. It is suitable for crops with a high nitrogen requirement or in the early growth stage of crops (from the seedling stage to the vegetative growth stage).

· Phosphorus (6%) - Promotes root and flower and fruit development Help root growth, flower bud differentiation and enhance stress resistance. It has a moderate content and is suitable for crops with a medium phosphorus requirement or areas where soil phosphorus is not severely deficient.

· Potassium (5%) - Enhances resistance and quality Enhance the crop's resistance to lodging, diseases and pests, and promote fruit enlargement and sugar accumulation. It has a relatively low content and is suitable for crops with low potassium requirements or soils that need additional potassium supplementation.

  • Applicable crops

·Leafy vegetables (such as spinach, lettuce, and Chinese cabbage) : They have a high nitrogen requirement. This formula can promote leaf growth.

·Early stage of Gramineous crops (such as the seedling stage of corn and rice) : Supports early vegetative growth.

·Lawns and forage: Maintain greenness and density.

·For fruit trees and vegetables in the early stage: During the early stage of vegetative growth, high-potassium fertilizer should be supplemented in the later stage.

·For field crops in medium to high phosphorus and potassium soil: If the soil's phosphorus and potassium foundation is good, it can be used as a supplementary top dressing.

  • Usage stage

· Base fertilizer or early top dressing: Suitable for the early growth stage of crops. The formula should be adjusted according to the needs of the crops in the later stage.

· Should be applied in combination: If the crop requires a high amount of potassium in the later stage (such as during the fruit expansion period), it should be used in combination with high-potassium fertilizer.

  • Advantages

· Flexible formula: The ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium can be adjusted according to the results of soil testing.

· High cost performance: The production process is simple and it is usually cheaper than high-concentration compound fertilizers.

· Good quick-acting performance: Uniform particles, moderate dissolution speed, and rapid nutrient release.

  • Limitations

· Low nutrient concentration: The required amount is large, and transportation costs may increase.

· Easy to separate: If the uniformity of the particles is poor, it may lead to uneven fertilization.

· Fixed ratio: Not applicable to all soils and crops. Selection should be based on actual conditions.

  • Precautions for use

· Soil testing and fertilization:

·It is recommended to conduct soil testing first. If the phosphorus and potassium content in the soil is high, this formula can avoid waste. If there is a deficiency of phosphorus and potassium, additional supplementation is required.

·Avoid improper mixing:

·Do not mix with alkaline fertilizers (such as lime) to prevent ammonia volatilization. Mix and use immediately to prevent moisture absorption, caking or particle separation.

·Application method:

·When used as base fertilizer, it should be deeply applied and covered with soil to reduce nitrogen loss. When applying top dressing, avoid hot and rainy weather.

·Storage conditions

·Store in a dry and cool place to prevent moisture and caking.

  • Comparison with other formulas

·VS balanced fertilizer (such as 15-15-15) : 14-6-5 has a lower phosphorus and potassium content, making it more suitable for stages or crops with prominent nitrogen requirements and lower phosphorus and potassium demands.

·VS high-nitrogen fertilizers (such as 30-0-5) : 14-6-5 contain phosphorus and potassium, providing more comprehensive nutrients and is suitable for basic application.

·VS high-potassium fertilizer (such as 10-10-30) : 14-6-5 has a low potassium content and is not suitable for the fruit expansion stage or the later stage of crops with high potassium requirements.

  • Summary

NPK 14-6-5 blended fertilizer is a type of fertilizer mainly composed of nitrogen and supplemented by phosphorus and potassium. It is suitable for crops that require a large amount of nitrogen during their vegetative growth period or for soils with a good phosphorus and potassium foundation. It is recommended to apply fertilizers scientifically based on the growth stage of crops and soil conditions. When necessary, combine water and fertilizer integration technology to improve the utilization rate.
